“A feeling of dissatisfaction that results when your expectations are not realized.”
This according to Google. All in all, it is a good definition. An adequate one at the very least. Short and to the point. However, I believe it is lacking in quite a few things. The definition above does not make mention of any of the following:
1. The gut-wrenching, stomach-churning, limbs-failing physical effect that disappointment may have.
2. The myriad scenarios and thoughts and ideas that burst into your mind at the heels of a grand disappointment – each one of them either dragging your physical state down further or lifting you up with false hopes.
3. The feeling of complete and utter emotional waste at the tensions, the hopes, the hundred and one parts of your life that the disappointment had to do with.
Then again, I am being unfair I suppose. I only Googled “disappointment”, not “life-altering-and-huge disappointment.”
You see, that’s why I miss talking to you; I have no idea what that post is about.
[Well, I kinda do, but I still miss talking to you]
